I am unofficially officially old school. This whole blog writing bit was completely new to me and when I started doing it, I was quite apprehensive. I have gotten more used to the idea and began to wonder if there was maybe a way I could move into this centuries technological landscape. I have never used twitter, snapchat, instagram, or facebook. I have used groupme with my family and that was my foot in the door of today’s social media market. But owning a business, I have to plan for today’s consumers. Being I own an assisted living facility, it will have to be diverse as our clientele is a little older than your average clientele. But they have social media savvy grandkids and kids so I have to become more familiar to keep up with the competition.
I read the blog post https://sproutsocial.com/insights/social-media-marketing-strategy/ and it gave a 7 step guide to social media marketing. It had great insight on several different fronts. Below are the top 3 I am going to start with.
Targeted Audience-
For me this one is big. I need to find out what platforms people who would be searching for my business are using so I can utilize that platform for spreading information.
What Type of Content Produced-
After finding out what platforms to go after, I have to try and plan what type of content I am going to use. Videos, blog posts, and the like. Video is all the rage, but maybe the older generation would rather read the information.
Social Media Metrics-
I need to plan for what type of metrics will judge success. Am I looking for clicks, contact us forms filled out, awareness to assisted living issues, how many people engaged in our content, and the like.
Biggest thing is to develop a plan and be ready to adjust the plan to suit the changing society. Just because something works today, doesn’t mean it will work a month from now. For all of of you looking for ideas on how to market yourself on social media, read the blog post as it is a great resource to build the plan to help you succeed.
